A registered charity is launching a unique yoga program aimed at making the practice more accessible and inclusive for all members of the community.
- Yoga in the Park will be held in five locations: Kendal, Cockermouth, Ulverston, Carlisle, and Askham.
- The sessions will take place in beautiful outdoor settings, providing a serene and natural environment for participants to practice yoga.
The one-hour classes are designed to cater to all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned yogis. The aim is to create a supportive space where people from diverse backgrounds can come together to experience the physical, emotional, and social benefits of yoga.
“Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can feel at ease and connect with one another,” said Caroline Robinson, founder of the Cumbria Yoga Foundation.
The classes are open to anyone, and tickets are priced at £8 full price and £4 concession. Discounts are available for students, those on low incomes, single-adult households, and low-income individuals over 65. Additionally, each full-price ticket includes a ‘pay it forward’ contribution, which helps fund free places for those facing financial or health-related barriers.
As well as the physical and mental benefits, the Yoga in the Park sessions are also helping to raise awareness of the foundation’s work across Cumbria and generate funds to support its community programs and initiatives.
