How the ranking works
Five common mat materials each carry a baseline 0-10 rating on grip, cushioning, eco-friendliness, and durability. The calculator multiplies each rating by how much you say that factor matters, sums the result across all four criteria, and divides by your total priority weight to get a single comparable score out of 10 per material.
Because the score is a weighted average, a material that's mediocre on your low-priority criteria can still rank first if it leads on what you weighted heavily — and the ranking reshuffles as soon as you change a slider.
